Announcements

The University is looking for students to take a survey to help with improvements to the online services of the university.

A Central UVic website renovation project is underway and we are looking for your feedback.

Please take the online survey and let us know how you use www.uvic.ca.
This survey is open to the entire UVic community (students, faculty, staff, alumni) as well as the General public.

Please tell your friends and colleagues—participants will have a chance to win prizes from the UVic Bookstore!

The link to the survey is: www.uvic.ca/uvicca2012survey

Thank you for your interest. Students like you continue to improve our web sites.

University Systems is pleased to announce that we have installed over 280 new computers in our student computing facilities located in the Clearihue, Business & Economics, and Human & Social Development buildings.

There are now seven classrooms of Dell Optiplex 390s (BEC 170, BEC 180, CLE A010, CLE A012, CLE A102, CLE A105, and HSD A170) running Windows 7 and one classroom (CLE A108) offering Apple Mac Minis running OS 10.7 Lion.

Our Windows computers now also allow a user to save files to their desktop or My Documents folder on one computer and access these files from another computer in our facility. This is accomplished behind the scenes by transparently storing these files on our central file storage system.

You are encouraged to become familiar with the new computers and test your applications prior to your first booking in any of the updated classrooms. Facility staff will be happy to assist.
